Meet folklorist Nancy Solomon, Executive Director of Long Island Traditions, as she discusses her new book “Boat Builders and Boat Yards of Long Island: A Tribute to Tradition” published by The History Press. Her presentation will highlight the traditions of Long Island’s boat building industry from a contemporary perspective, sharing the stories she collected from traditional boat builders and boat yard managers in the region over a course of decades.
