Since the late 1800s residents have built summer bungalows along the shorelines of Long Island and Queens. In this presentation Nancy Solomon examines two communities: West Meadow Beach in Stony Brook, and the bungalows of Far Rockaway. The presentation examines the reasons the bungalows were created, the architectural designs of these bungalows, and why one community survived and the other was demolished. The presentation includes historic and contemporary photographs.
